Description:
GuardWall (formerly Guard-IE) is an add-on to Internet Explorer which helps computer users regain control of what is or is not allowed onto their computer. GuardWall blocks pop-up advertisements, prevents the hijacking of a browser, and increases computer security and privacy by deleting sensitive information and detecting web bugs. These various functions are easily accessed through convenient icons integrated into the Internet Explorer toolbars and the Windows task bar.
GuardWall blocks pop-up advertisements, yet the user can easily choose to always allow or prevent pop-ups and scripts from any website(s) with one mouse stroke - or the user can choose to allow pop-ups from one browser window, but not another with one click. GuardWall lets the user choose to never see the blocked pop-ups or have the pop-ups appear only for a very short time before they close themselves.
GuardWall provides Web security by blocking potentially unsafe script functions which can store secret information in your bookmarks, reset your home page, get information about your browser, resize your browser windows, and more. GuardWall also has a web firewall to block potentially unsafe web controls from players, applets and other sources. However, this web firewall can be modified to meet the specific needs of each user. Also, like with pop-ups, all of these script blocking rules can be turned on and off for any browser window or website with one click.
GuardWall provides privacy by removing all types of Web histories including typed URLs, passwords, form entries, unwanted cookies, browser histories and Temporary Internet Files. Each of these is separately controlled so the user can choose any combination to best suit their needs. These elements can be immediately deleted with a mouse stroke, or set for deletion when Internet Explorer exits, or a timer can be set to delete these elements if the computer is left idle.
