- The 4.2b NetTerm release now supports Italian for all versions of Windows. Language selection is provided in the NetTerm setup process.
- NetTerm now supports the Microsoft NTLM authentication and the SRP authentication model from the Stanford University Authentication Project. Future enhancements will include Kerberos 4, Kerberos 5, SSH and associated encryption techniques.
- The 4.2a NetTerm release now supports Brazilian Portuguese for all versions of Windows. Language selection is provided in the NetTerm setup process.
- With the 4.2.9 release of NetTerm, Castilian Spanish is now supported for all versions of Windows. Language selection is provided in the NetTerm setup process.
- NetTerm is a network terminal which can act as a telnet client both on a locally attached ethernet network, as well as a dial in network using WinSock products such as Trumpet and Windows 95/NT.
- NetTerm provides emulation for the VT-52, VT-100, VT-102, VT-220, VT-320, ANSI,ANSI-BBS, SCO-ANSI, QNX-2, IBM-3101, IBM-3151, IBM-3161, IBM-3163, IBM FTTERM, Televideo 925, Wyse 50, and the Nixdolf BA-80 terminals. In addition to being a telnet client, NetTerm also supports rlogin.
- NetTerm now supports the German language for all versions of Windows. Language selection is provided in the NetTerm setup process.
- NetTerm is now available for both versions of Chinese, traditional and simplified, for the Chinese edition of Windows 95/NT. In addition NetTerm has been optimized to display both versions of Chinese in the main NetTerm window with the English edition of Windows when used with third party products such as Richwin and Unionway.
- NetTerm can also be used as a terminal emulator on normal dial up bulletin boards and online services such as CompuServe. Full graphics support is provided by the ANSI standard for dialup communications lines.
- The most popular file transfer protocols, zmodem, xmodem, and kermit are supported on both ethernet and bulletin boards. That means you can attach to a UNIX host with telnet and transfer files with zmodem. This applies to both locally attached and dialup telnet based hosts. In addition, the CompuServe B+ file transfer protocol is supported when you are logged onto CompuServe, both dialup and Internet.
- The benefits of NetTerm is in it's ability to provide you with a DIALER, TELNET CLIENT, and support for national BULLETIN BOARDS with only one program. As an extra, NetTerm has tools to resolve host names to IP address and finger sites.
- NetTerm supports full transparent printing from a UNIX host, including a UNIX script file that you can upload to your host to send text files to your computer, using the transparent feature. This allows printing of text files on your local Windows printer, or just place them in a local file for editing.
- NetTerm supports the ability to edit a host file on your local computer. The program, netedit. c, can be uploaded to your host and compiled to support local editing. Then when you want to edit a host file, just enter 'netedit xxxxxx', where xxxxxx is the host file name. The file will be downloaded to your computer, and placed within the editor of your choice. When the edit is completed, the file will be transferred back to the host.
- NetTerm includes FINGER, RESOLVE and a FTP Server.
- NetTerm has been optimized for OVID, the database search software.
- NetTerm is now URL aware. Right mouse click on any URL and NetTerm will start your WWW browser providing it the URA to process. This combined with the ability to be called from your browser makes surfing the net a whole lot easier.
- Screen resizing by NAWS and the standard UNIX resize command is supported.
- NetTerm now supports S/KEY and OPIE password encryption! This option requires the winkey.exe program written by David Aylesworth.
- Announcing SmartEdit, a new flexible way to edit host files! SmartEdit is the next step in host file editing, it supports binary files as well as text files. The new 'se' UNIX script sends any file to your local computer using the standard zmodem protocol and informs NetTerm to start the program that is associated with the filetype to edit the file. Once the edit program has finished, NetTerm will upload the file if it has been changed. Since the standard zmodem protocol is used, all the standard options associated with it are honored. That means long file names on the 32 bit version!
- Block text selection is now supported. Just use the shift key, left mouse button to select the upper left and lower right corners of the text and then copy to the clipboard. This option applies to the entire scroll back buffer as well as the current screen.
- InterSoft is proud to announce the ability to start NetTerm from a WWW browser with complete site information included with the start request. Complete control over the NetTerm session including color, font, font size, key definition and scripting is provided. This special support is provided free of charge, and uses the same format as a normal host phone book entry.
